Extra day in Melbourne! The day before we had talked about it being a lite day with little to do. We talked about a relaxing day, getting everything ready and getting to bed early since we had to get up at 5:30am the next day to get to the airport on time. Well, “B” wanted to get out and do something. So, that meant at 11:00 we headed to downtown Melbourne. We went to a bunch of gardens that are all next to each other including the botanic garden. It was pretty, but just another garden to me. We saw a lot of them on this trip. Just the other day we were talking about it and I agreed that the Melbourne Botanic Garden was the best one we saw overall.
Then we ate a late lunch of burgers: two lamb, one chicken and one brisket/beef. They were pretty good burgers. After that we rode the free city center tram ride which is an hour loop. We got off to look at an old catholic cathedral along the way and that added 45 minutes to the day.
Then we went to dinner at an Irish pub that I had found earlier for lunch, but “B” wanted it for dinner. So, that meant we were out even later. Dinner was tasty: Lamb stew, beef pie, and lamb shank that we shared. I liked the stew the most. On our way out of there we saw an ice cream place and stopped there. I had Tim Tam and Cinnamon, as did “B”, “A” had brownie and Lemon tart, and “G” had Sour Sugar and Cotton Candy. I really liked mine the most, but “G” had great flavors as well. The cotton candy really tasted more like a blue sweettart and that made it pretty awesome, and the sour sugar was like eating a sour candy. I would never choose those flavors myself, but I was glad I got to share with her.
We finally got back to our place at 8pm, so not early. Then girls got clean and we had to finish packing. “B” and I worked on getting suitcases packed and allowed the girls to get some sleep. I finally got clean and ready for bed by 11pm. So, earlier than I expected (I really thought it would be midnight), but still not early. Oh and did I mention that “B” was getting over her cold, “A” and “G” were clearly getting the cold. So that meant more fun there as well. I hadn’t shown any signs of it, but I was waiting for it to hit. But it didn’t I managed not to get the cold somehow. I was very happy about that.
Tomorrow was a return home. No issues right? Well…
