Seriously what is going on.
In the last couple weeks things have been busy. Ok, things are always busy right now, but busier than normal because I have had more repairs to do.
Remember that lawn mower I talked about a little bit ago? Well, I thought I had it fixed, but nope. It lasted 5-6 minutes and then died again. I had decided that I was not going to futz with the carburetor anymore. I was ready to buy a new electric lawn mower. But my wise and thoughtful wife asked what I thought was wrong. I told her it was a gas issue, and something with the carburetor was my guess. So, she asked why I couldn’t just replace the carb. So, I looked it up online and I could buy one online for under $30. I ordered one and it came a couple days later, and I installed it. My wife was right. It ran great. It ran better than it has run for a the last couple years. I love my wife.
Next fix: We headed up to our place in Pinetop for Labor Day and I had to repair a toilet. When one of my girls flushed the toilet water started leaking, a lot, between the bowl and the tank. I got that apart, but it was a challenge since the parts inside the tank had been in there so long they didn’t want to move at all, and getting my hands where they needed to be to unscrew the bolts that connected the tank and the bowl were hard to get to. But I got it apart, and headed to Ace and replaced the seal between the tank and bowl, the bolts that hold it down and the flapper while I was at it. I also installed a security camera up there as well, but didn’t take a picture of that. we aren’t worried about anything up there, but we had the ability to do it and so we thought it might be nice to have. We’ll see.
Oh wait one more. This last weekend I headed out front to check on something and I saw that one of my sprinkler heads had been broken off. It must had happened the day before since my sprinklers had run and my yard wasn’t flooded. I was a little disappointed about that, but it happens. I dug it up, and got the broken parts out. I had the riser I needed at the bottom, but I didn’t have a sprinkler head that would accommodate the 270-degree angle I needed. So headed over to the Horizon store near my house, and picked up a few sprinkler heads. I got that all fixed and things seem to be working again.
More fun around my houses. Joys of home ownership at its best.
