Today I got to go skiing for the first time this season. I was up at Sunrise Ski Park outside Greer. I got there early as usual, and was able to get my new RFID ticket, and also get on the slopes right away once they opened.
Here is a shot from the beginning of the day:
And here is a shot from the top of Apache Peak when I was eating lunch:
The day went well. I got in a lot of runs, and the snow was OK. It hasn’t snowed in a fwe days, but the snow was still pretty good. The nice part was that it wasn’t crowded at all today. That really surprised me. The Apache mountain was a bit patchy and choppy so I only did 3 runs over there, but since Sunrise wasn’t super busy I was able to get in 17 runs on that mountain. Here are my stats from the day:
I felt pretty good all day. I had a good average speed, and I topped out at almost 40mph today. That is something I like to see. I like going fast, but being safe.
I enjoy skiing, and I plan to write about that sometime, just hasn’t made it up high enough on my to do list yet.
