So it was “Super Tuesday” the other day, and it regretfully went as I expected, but didn’t hope for.
If you live under a rock, live in another country (that’s you bro), or just don’t care I will let you know what happened.
Trump won pretty much everything, and Ms. Haley has dropped out. The writing has been on the wall for a while, but I was really hoping that Haley would have won more than just one state (Vermont) on Tuesday.
I was really hoping she would win enough to create some more doubt about whether Trump could truly win in November. I was looking forward to having more people question another Trump vs Biden November. But that isn’t what happened. Enough people didn’t come out to vote for Ms. Haley and as a result Trump easily won.
I read that Trump had little to say afterwards with regard to Ms. Haley. He commented that “He had trounced her.” So, he just turned it back on himself, no surprise there. He is a self-absorbed old man. Can he say anything nice about anyone else without turning it to himself?
So, now we have to deal with the next many months of Trump bashing Biden and democrats and Biden doing whatever it is his campaign will do. I am resigned to being bombarded even more via text with things I won’t read and wish I wouldn’t get. I will get to see things online at times as well that will bash people, and I will try to ignore that as well.
I am trying to think of any positives to this, and there is only one, and it comes with a negative as well (at least half of one). IF Trump wins in November then we have to deal with 4 years of him (hey the economy may get better), but then he is done. He can’t be president anymore. And I seriously doubt Biden would consider running again in another 4 years. BUT if Trump loses then that is great, but we have to deal with Biden for 4 more years, AND there is a chance that Trump will try to run AGAIN in 4 more years. Maybe the country will grow up and wise up in 4 years.
I wonder who Trump will pick to be his VP candidate?
Hey Bro,
I may be in another country, but I read the US headlines pretty regularly.
Yea, not what we wanted. I guess I’ll be looking into how to resign my membership in the Republican party and just go independent.
To be honest, I kind of hope that Haley does the same thing. Run as an independent. Not with any real hope of winning the Presidency. But, with the hope that she’ll take enough votes away from Trump, that he won’t win.
I can’t imagine the Republican party picking Trump again in four years after getting beaten two runs in a row. Even they know better than that.
We can also hope that politics in general becomes less polarizing in the next few years. That would be nice.
Take care,
Your bro.
