Lots going on. It is so busy right now.
Last week I dropped my daughter’s bicycle helmet a foot or so. Didn’t think anything of it. It has fallen before. But today getting ready to ride to school and low and behold the helmet had broken in the rear on the support mechanism. So, no good there. I drove her to school. But tomorrow that isn’t an option. so I went and got her a new helmet. We talked about what color she wanted – not yellow, black, white or pink. OK I said.
I went to the bike store I like (and had store credit at) and I found a very nice looking helmet, but it is yellow flowing into a nice blue/green color. I am hopeful at the moment that I won’t ahve to go back and exchange it for a different color. The only issue is that the only other options were YELLOW, black, dark blue, white and red. I didn’t really think she would like any of the other colors (well the blue yes, but it was too dark – we want her to be visible).
My little plus – while there they had their last supply of Specialized merchandise out at 75% off and I found some warm leggings and knee warmers. I thought, that may be nice and for $12 I felt it was a good buy.
So my win for the day.
Yo Bro,
You should’ve gone for the red helmet! Red is my favorite color after all.
Visibility is one of the keys to safety while riding a bike. I talked to a policeman, who was doing an anti-bullying day at my school, about what else he does. He said that he mostly does talks and seminars on bike safety, usually for elderly people, who now jet around on e-bikes. He said that they most important thing he tells them is to make themselves as visible as possible. (They are already all wearing helmets.)
This has been my TED Talk.
High-Fives,
Your Bro
