So, as I mentioned in yesterday’s post the movers got here early and worked all day.
Tuesday was a lot of loading, and packing. Monday was all packing and no loading at all. But this day was full of boxes and furniture getting out and into the truck. They packed the garage, the main floor, and the three small bedrooms all before I had lunch.
They made a slide out of cardboard from the second floor to the main floor to slide boxes and furniture down. It was a site and it made things go really fast (at least to get the stuff downstairs). I stood there and watched for a while as they moved most of the boxes from upstairs downstairs. I finally chose to head up the slide (that was fun) so I could get my laptop from a table I knew they were about to move as well (which they did almost right after I moved my laptop).
They also started working on packing the kitchen and master bedroom. The kitchen was a slog for the person working it. Every cabinet was so full and I lost count of how many boxes they filled. It was well over 10 large boxes. She got it done though. I think she worked 4-5 hours on it (there was a lunch break in there).
And they got a large chunk done. They are certainly going to be done tomorrow (Wednesday).
Wrapped paino:
It does look like we are going to have to store stuff at my parent’s and in-laws place until I come back in a month or so. There are quite a few things they wouldn’t take – all liquid related – that we want, and so we will have to collect them later. I will have to rent a trailer I think (a very small one, but covered) to haul it that stuff to Idaho. I was already having to bring some things back next time, but now it will be more things. I am hoping I can divide it out between what I need vs what can wait for a month and as a result we can lighten our load for this first vacation / move to Idaho, and I will just have to bring more back next time.
