Today was day 3 with the moving company. They got here again at 5:30am to get to work. There were 3 different guys here today and no woman. It was primarily a load day with just a little bit left to actually pack.
They worked hard and were done by 10:45am.
They did a fine job. They got everything in one truck somehow. They ended up not taking any of our liquids (that is a bummer). We will have to transport those ourselves. It isn’t the companies policy to take any liquids, but the driver said he would if he had room at the end of the truck, but there was NO ROOM AT ALL. In fact there was no room and they left a bit of their trash and my trash here. Well, it was only my trash because they unboxed things and reboxed them in their boxes or combined boxes and then left the empty boxes. I now have to make a “waste facility” run tomorrow (not open on Wednesday) to get rid of most of that. The waste filled my 4runner to the top and that wasn’t quite all of it.
Now it is done. It is weird. I am not emotionally sad. I am sad we are leaving, but I think it hasn’t quite hit me or maybe it has a while ago and this is just a step that I have come to terms with. I don’t know. Maybe I will be crying sometime in the next few days/weeks about it. If so I will let you know.
We don’t leave AZ until Sunday morning. We are staying at a place nearby for a few days. We need to clean up a little here, hopefully make some progress on selling our house (more on that hopefully soon), the girls might want to swim once or twice more before we leave, and we have our farewell party on Saturday. Hopefully people will come by for that (we know of a few that can and a few that have let us know they can’t).
And we get to do a reverse of this, to a degree, in less than 2 weeks up at our new house. I will post about that as well. Probably similar to what I did here. I am not sure how long it will take to do the reverse process. I hope not too long since I again have to be at the house while the movers are there.
Speaking of our new house the LVP (luxury Vinyl Planks) are being installed today at our new house. That was an extra ordeal as well. Maybe tomorrow I will post about that. And I need to post about Tuesday night dinner with a friend. Wow, a bunch of things to write about.
