Time for my April Top Music Listens. I went with artist and tracks this time. Relient K for the win, and by a lot as well. 61 listens that is a bunch for one band. And then looking over at the tracks you only see them come up twice in the top 10 with a total of 6 plays. Of course there may be lots of “3 plays” that weren’t in the top ten.
It was a good month of music listening. I really like all of these bands that are up this month. Switchfoot, Anberlin, The Insyderz, MxPx, and of course Five Iron Frenzy are all bands that I love listening to all the time.
During the month though I did notice that “The Benjamin Gate” kept coming on. That is an artist that I haven’t really listened to in a long time. A song would occasionally come on, but not 14 times in a month. You can see that “All Over Me” was a 3 play song of those 14, and I never picked it out. It was all done on random. That is something I found odd. I enjoy the music, I wouldn’t say it is a go to listen anymore, but it was a nice interjection this month.
You can see “Battle Dancing Unicorns with Glitter” by FIF on the tracks list. That is their silly song from the “Engines of a Million Plots” album. It is a fun and silly song. I like it. But I like a lot of the songs on that album.
Another song/artist that made the track list was Plum with “Free”. Again not a song, or band, I tend to listen to unless it comes up on random, but that is certainly a song I enjoy from them. I may add in some more of their music into my Sonic Adventure mixes in the coming months. Plum has harder stuff and lighter stuff. They run the gambit. “Late Great Planet Earth” is another song I enjoy of theirs that I was just thinking about as I wrote this.
Make sure to look up like it talks about in “Stars” by Switchfoot, and take a moment and think about who you are. “Wonderfully Made” by The Waiting is another song about who one is as a person.
