I have a great family. But you already knew that.
I had a good Father’s Day this last week. My wife and kids made cinnamon pancakes in the morning. They were amazing. I think they may have been the best pancakes I have ever had. I am not a big pancake person, but the one I had was delicious.
Then it was off the church that was a fine time. Once home I made grill sandwiches for the family and we ate out on our back patio. It was nice being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
After that we did a bit of our own thing. I did a bike ride (inside) and then did some yard work. I texted my dad to say happy father’s day. He and my mom are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this week and are on vacation. We also Zoomed with my in-laws.
For dinner my wife my one of my favorite things – Monterey Jack Roulade (but with Mexican cheese rather than monterey jack) – which I refer to as “Meat and Cheese Rollie Thing”. It was very delicious. After dinner we headed to the greenbelt for a family bike ride. It was very pleasant weather, and I had a very good time. We biked about 6.6 miles roundtrip. “G” let us know that her helmet is now just getting small, and I noticed that it looks like it is time for her to get a larger bike as well. Of course she isn’t riding a bike very often here in Idaho at the moment so I am not sure when that will occur. (“B” and I talked during the ride and we think we will try and make doing a family bike ride a regular thing, even though it takes a bit of work to get everything loaded up and over to the greenbelt)
Once we were back at home we had dessert, which was very tasty brownies that my kids made and “G” decorated. After that it was late we did our nightly family devotional and all headed to bed.
It was a good day. I am blessed with a wonderful family.
