I know it took me until over half way through the month to get to this, but hey I was out of town for a bit and then school started for my kids.
Ok, I know what you are all saying, at least those of you who read these monthly music blogs – “He only listens to the same bands all the time.” OR “Does he listen to anything other than these bands?”
Yes, there are no real surprises for the most part on either list this month. You get a couple of Five Iron Frenzy and Insyderz albums. Relient K shows up as does Anberlin, MxPx and Switchfoot. Well, I like their music a lot. They are my go to listens most of the time. If you haven’t checked these bands out you should.
*Switchfoot just did a collaboration with the Jonas Brothers if that interests you. I saw a video where the Jonas Brothers said that “The Beautiful Letdown” album was one of the most influential albums they heard when they were young.
There are a couple new additions though – Fastball and Roper. I will admit that I was very surprised Fastball showed up on the list. I recall hearing a song or two, but not 7 last month. They are an ok band from the late 90’s early 00’s. I bought the album “All the Pain Money Can Buy” (as you can see on the album list), and I still have it. Again nothing special, but I am sure they came up in my Anberlin AI generated playlist that I have had on recently. Roper is a band from Reese Roper (from Five Iron Frenzy), and was a one time thing. It is more alternative rock and enjoyable. Well worth a listen on your streaming service if you have one (or you can probably find it all for free on YouTube as well in fact here it is)
(I didn’t listen this link before posting it, so hopefully it is all there and sounds ok).
I didn’t listen to a lot of music in July. In fact while I was on my Europe trip I didn’t listen to music once the entire time until our plan trip from Denver to Boise because the in flight infotainment system wouldn’t work on my tablet nor phone).
Take care and enjoy the music.
