This is a new one for me.
I want to get rid of the many boxes we have from moving to Idaho. They are good quality moving boxes. I thought that trying to sell them was the way to go. I put an ad on Offer Up and Craigslist with no issues at all. I then went to Facebook Marketplace and tried to post the exact same ad I had on the other two sites.
And Facebook said that my posting violated their code of conduct regarding discriminatory language and/or weapon listing. I was like, “What?” I asked to have it reviewed, and again I got the same message back.
Here was the original listing:
“Title: Moving Boxes For Sale”
“I just moved to the area and I have LOTS of empty moving boxes. (Possibly over 100 boxes)
Various sizes. 1.5 cubit feet, 3 cubit feet, 4.5 cubit feet, wardrobe boxes, and I think a few mirror/glass/large picture boxes.
Most are collapsed, but some are still together because they are FULL of good quality packing paper.
$1 each for collapsed boxes – any size
$2 each for boxes with paper in them. I will not take paper out of a box if it is full of paper.”
And I posting it with these three images:
Other than the fact that one is very blurry can anyone find the issue with this? I can’t.
I then tried to change the wording to simply:
“I have moving boxes for sale. $1 each for collapsed boxes – any size
$2 each for boxes with paper in them. I will not take paper out of a box if it is full of paper.”
Still got the same message from Facebook.
I am at a loss. Facebook just doesn’t want me selling my boxes on their site apparently. I am sorry that I am trying to find a good use for my boxes rather than cutting them all up and recycling them.
Very weird Facebook, very weird.
