As I mentioned earlier this week we had another concert this week.
This was the big one for the family. When we found out we were moving I happened to learn that this concert was happening and that they had reduced tickets as well.
I was online right away to buy 4 tickets for our family.
Oh wait, you want to know who…
Lindsey Stirling, the awesome violinist from Gilbert AZ. I have been a fan for along time and this was my third time seeing her. But over the years she has become a favorite for everyone else in the family as well.
So we had to get this one.
We previously went to see her in Mess for a Christmas tour of hers but this show was her regular music and a show based on that stuff.
The show was a lot more crowded than the switchfoot show on Sunday. That isn’t much of a surprise to me. We got lawn tickets and we got there early enough to get good seats in the shade and high enough to hopefully not get blocked by anyone. We were able to bring in low to the ground chairs (no more than 6” from the seat to the ground) to sit on, and “B” found some cheap ones on Amazon that seemed pretty good. We then got some dinner of a pulled pork quesadilla, a couple Korean BBQ rice bowls, and some fried chicken with waffle fries that were a cinnamon sugar flavor I think. It was a fine dinner.
And then the big thing for us happened. About 3 songs in I noticed a guy that was standing just behind us to the side, and I looked back at him and made simple eye contact. I was trying to figure out what he was doing. Then he came up to us and asked if we would like to sit in an actual seat on the “floor” closer to the stage. He has a stack of tickets he was giving out to people in the lawn area. We jumped on it, and headed down. We were in the last row, but it didn’t matter we were A LOT closer, the view was generally better, and the music was louder and you really felt it. We all agreed that it made the show that much better. That was a blessing that was totally unexpected but made the night so much better.
The show did not disappoint. She was amazing. Lots of dancing. Lots of Outfits. Lots of Sparkles. Lots of fun violins. And Ariels as well. The music was loud but not too loud in my opinion.
She talked a bit as well. She talked about believing in one’s self and even in the midst of depression, anxiety, nerves, etc. that you can focus and believe in yourself. I would say that you need to trust in God, but she didn’t go there (a little surprising since she was raised Mormon, but maybe things have changed for her over the years). She also talked about how you need to find value in yourself and not in what others say or think about you. That is super important especially for women in the world we live in. The social media platforms out there are not helpful for so many people and she mentioned that as well. It was a fine message to convey.
As for a set list that was hard. I love her music but I can’t identify all her music by name. Between my daughter and I I think we got it.

It was a lot of songs. Her part of the show ran a little over 90 minutes. There were a number of songs from her latest album, not surprising. I really enjoy Roundtable Rival both as a song and as a performance. She does keps up that back and forth like in the music video for the song. They played “A”’s favor song of Serenity Found so that made her happy. I also enjoyed Kintsugi, a new song from her, as well. It is named after the Japanese art of fixing cracked pottery with melted gold. The new pot isn’t the same as before, it is stronger in some ways, and it is beautiful in new ways as well. I like that undermeaning to that song.
Would I go and see her again: absolutely. She doesn’t disappoint in a show.
Here are some pictured from the show – sorry no videos this time. And it was dark so the pictures are all over the place in quality and brightness. Sorry about that as well.
