Time for another note on the music I listened to the most on my phone last month.
MXPX for the win again. With that said I am surprised that Major Tom (Coming Home) was a four time listen last month. I do enjoy that cover of theres a lot. I know I didn’t pick it out ever, so a four time repeat is amazing. I own a lot of music so anything that come sup that often is odd. I think I had reset my listening a couple times this last month so that resets the random order so that is probalby why that happened.
You can see a few regulars on the lists as well. You get Jon Foreman, Switchfoot, Relient K, Five Iron Frnezy, and Lindsey Stirling. They are pretty big staples for my monthly listening. I love all those artist, and I was glad to see Weight of the World on the song list. That is a great song.
But there are also a few new ones on the lists this month. On the song side you get “Once I Smiled” by Leonard Nimoy. Yes the original Mr. Spock from Star Trek. This is a song that is based on the Star Trek episode “This Side of Paradise”, where the crew goes down to a planet and some get sprayed with the spores from a flower and they start acting odd. Spock’s emotions come out and he falls in love. It is a nice little song about love and loss. And on the artist side you have Petra. Just the other day I said to myself, I am hearing a lot of Petra this month. I was right, at least a little. The rock they produced in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s was very influential for me, and I to this day I really enjoy hearing their music when it comes across my ears. I don’t find myself choosing to listen just to their music alone like I once did, but wherever they come on I certainly listen and sing along.
Well, there is another month of music. If you don’t know some of these artists you should check them out. You have punk, rock, alternative, electric, ska, and calming music there. Just about anything one may want to listen to.
