The other day I was on Facebook and this video came up:
This was and still is one of my all time favorite worship songs. This uploaded a few weeks ago so it is a new version of the song. Well, it is a great, light, and mostly acoustic version of the song. The words are all about getting close to God. How He is to be our obsession. He certainly isn’t always my obsession, but hearing this song reminds me that He should be. The song talks about how we carry other things in the place of God as our obsessions as well.
Martin Smith still has a great voice and carries this song along so well. The guitar is pleasant to listen to, and the melody is sweet. For those of you that don’t know who he is, he was the lead singer of the band Delirious. A band out of UK* during the late 1990’s big push for praise and worship music. I enjoyed other songs of their but this one was always my favorite.
It really is a great song.
* I made a mistake a wrote Australia the first time. My brother corrected me that they were from the UK. All fixed.
Hi Bro,
What a coincidence. This video popped up fro me the other morning on YouTube, while I was eating breakfast. Listened to it with my daughter. It is a good video.
High-Five,
your bro
PS. I like the version from David Crowder Band the most, actually.
PPS. I think Delirious (and Martin Smith) are from the UK, not Australia. Just check Wikipedia and yes, UK!
